Job Summary: The Laboratory Assistant supports laboratory activities related to highway maintenance, ensuring result reliability and traceability, as well as compliance with applicable standards. Maintain and organize laboratory equipment and facilities The Laboratory Assistant’s mission is to support laboratory activities associated with highway maintenance and operations by performing material sampling, testing, and quality control—ensuring result reliability, sample traceability, and compliance with technical, safety, and environmental standards—thereby contributing to laboratory process quality and continuous improvement. **Responsibilities and Duties** **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Prepare, conduct, and monitor laboratory and field tests on soils, asphalt, concrete, and other materials used in highway construction. * Collect, identify, and store samples, ensuring traceability and preventing contamination. * Accurately complete test record sheets and material control forms for received materials, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with technical procedures and current standards. * Support engineering and quality control team members in laboratory-related technical requests. * Maintain, organize, and clean laboratory equipment, materials, and facilities. * Ensure compliance with safety regulations, internal procedures, and environmental protocols. * Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes and quality control. * Verify equipment functionality prior to testing and assist in periodic calibration of instruments—including scales, ovens, and sieves—to ensure precision and reliability of laboratory results. * Report any laboratory inconsistencies, equipment failures, or out-of-specification results to laboratory technicians to ensure timely correction and maintenance of test quality. **Requirements and Qualifications** **ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:** * Completed high school education; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; * Driver’s License Category B; * Willingness to travel. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** * Prior experience as a Laboratory Assistant or Laboratory Aide; * Technical vocational training in pavement engineering, construction, or related fields. **Additional Information** Competitive salary; Meal allowance; Health insurance plan extendable to dependents; Dental insurance plan extendable to dependents; Life insurance; Childcare allowance; Profit-sharing program (PLR); Private pension plan; Birthday day-off; Gym allowance; Partnership agreements with secondary (EJA), undergraduate, and postgraduate educational institutions; English language school partnership; Sports incentive program; Pharmacy partnership; Psychological counseling services; Employee referral program.
