Senior Relationship Manager, Rural Banking – Lucas do Rio Verde
**Summary description:**
* Manage Rabobank’s commercial relationships with clients and prospect new clients in accordance with the bank’s risk parameters, both supported by a consistent and profitable commercial plan.
* Actively contribute to the smooth operation of internal workflows and processes.
* Contribute to promoting Rabobank’s image as a cooperative bank, specialized in the Agribusiness and Food sectors, and committed to transparent, long-term relationships.
**Key responsibilities:**
* Actively manage the client portfolio, identifying business opportunities, monitoring and assessing changes in clients’ risk profiles, and determining the bank’s credit exposure for each client;
* Prospect clients in accordance with the procedures outlined in Rabobank’s policies;
* Present and sell Rabobank’s diverse products and services (credit, capital markets, derivatives, structured transactions, financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions, among others) to clients and prospects;
* Develop and nurture strong relationships with product teams;
* Plan commercial activities such as client and prospect visits, assessment of potential credit limits and transactions across the various products offered by the bank;
* Conduct periodic business visits to monitor performance and identify opportunities;
* Build lasting, solid relationships with clients;
* Continuously gather and process information on prospects/clients from the local market and institutional systems;
* Conduct commercial activities in compliance with Rabobank’s policies and practices;
* Identify and discuss with relevant stakeholders any early signs of changes in clients’ risk profiles;
* Act as a facilitator between Rabobank and clients regarding documentation matters, including:
o Client registration documents;
o Socio-environmental questionnaire and environmental permits;
o Collateral-related documents;
o Contract formalization documents;
o Credit analysis documents
* Prepare Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reports and align discussions with the Compliance team;
* Draft the Credit Memorandum jointly with the credit analyst, based on solid information gathered from the company and the market;
* Coordinate preparation of Term Sheets (TS) for discussion with clients;
* Propose and negotiate with clients the terms and conditions of financial transactions;
* Lead the disbursement process for financial transactions with clients;
* Monitor the value and quality of collateral provided by clients;
* Monitor portfolio performance to prevent losses, actively managing the bank’s exposure level and proposing and leading renegotiations when necessary;
* Request and oversee compliance with waiver and deferral policies;
**Key requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Economics, Engineering, or Agronomy;
* Master’s degree or MBA preferred;
* Solid experience in the financial market, particularly in commercial and credit areas;
* Solid experience marketing diverse banking products and services (credit, capital markets, derivatives, structured transactions, financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions, among others);
* Comprehensive knowledge of agribusiness value chains and their respective risks;
* Willingness to travel locally and internationally;
* Fluency (spoken and written) in English and Portuguese;
* Ability to conduct business involving financial products with complex clients;
* Capacity and flexibility to independently resolve complex issues and address challenges;
* Train/mentor less experienced Relationship Managers and credit and middle-office analysts in performing their duties.
