To support this mission, Syngenta's Field Operations team is seeking an Associate Scientist in Lucas do Rio Verde/MT. This role will be responsible for executing activities and operational routines in the experimental field, aiming at seed production for corn and soybean crops, playing a critical role in Syngenta Seeds' business. The position will ensure all operational activities related to planting, crop management, irrigation, harvesting, and maintenance of the experimental area are properly executed. Compliance with regulatory procedures and biosafety standards at the experimental field and operational level is also required. Working effectively within multidisciplinary teams is essential, as is fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. **Responsibilities:** * Execute and ensure end-to-end activities of all operational routines related to mechanized planting, chemical pest and disease control, soil correction and fertility building, irrigation management using different systems (center pivot and drip lines), mechanized harvesting, and maintenance of roads, firebreaks, and drainage systems in the experimental area. * Operate and ensure proper use of field equipment such as tractors, GPS, planters, harvesters, sprayers, among others, performing calibrations and verifications of various onboard systems (e.g., Wintersteiger, Almaco, Harvest Master); * Possess the ability to identify and resolve technical issues during field operations, providing basic maintenance and completing daily checklists after each equipment use. * Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on tractors, planters, harvesters, autopilot systems, analytical weighing systems, and other agricultural machinery, including refueling. * Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment, Quality, Biosafety, and Compliance guidelines. * Ensure that procedures, instructions, standards, and critical control points affecting seed quality are followed throughout the production chain; * Select and manage third-party workers, training and developing necessary skills to perform field activities and operate agricultural machinery and implements. * Execute tasks according to the operational schedule to meet agreed deadlines and quality requirements; * Generate data throughout all processes to monitor key KPIs and ensure their achievement. * Maintain communication with Field Equipment teams, reporting observed issues, proposing improvement solutions, and optimizing resource utilization; * Strongly apply digital agriculture to automate all field-level collected data, creating dashboards for monitoring and decision-making. **Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Agricultural Engineering with active CREA registration; * Class B driver's license; * Experience in field operations, agricultural and precision machinery, as well as embedded new technologies; * 3 to 5 years of experience in agricultural research; * Analytical skills, knowledge of agricultural experimentation and digital analysis tools; * Strong communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders; * Basic English proficiency. **Desirable:** * Postgraduate degree at Master's, PhD, or MBA level. * Knowledge in digital agriculture, autopilot, GPS. **Additional Information** **What We Offer** * A culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion, promotes professional development, and seeks a healthy work-life balance supporting team members.
