In 1997, the first branch opened in Itabuna-BA, giving rise to the first Buriti Store. In 2003, Buriti relocated its operations to an even larger store on Av. Juracy Magalhães. In 2007, the store in Ilhéus-BA was inaugurated and awarded the title of THE LARGEST CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS STORE IN SOUTHERN BAHIA. In 2020, Buriti launched its expansion plan, entering the cities of Itacaré, Una, and Serra Grande, and now operates the largest construction materials distribution center in southern and extreme southern Bahia—over 5,000 m². This enables Buriti to offer its customers nearly 7,000 products—from structural materials and finishing supplies to home décor and household care items—supported by the region’s largest logistics infrastructure. Always seeking innovation beyond its physical stores, Buriti launched its online sales website, ensuring sales coverage for over 40 cities in southern Bahia, as well as service through all digital platforms and social media channels. Fun fact: The name “Buriti” was chosen in reference to the Buriti palm tree, known for its rapid growth, strong roots, resistance to severe droughts and heavy rains, and for bearing fruit year-round.
