




Description: * Bachelor's degree in Library Science (mandatory), with active registration at the Regional Council of Librarianship (CRB); * Experience in team leadership and management; * Prior experience in school, university, public, or specialized libraries; * Knowledge of cataloging systems (AACR2, MARC21, RDA); * Familiarity with bibliographic classification (DDC, UDC); * Proficiency in library management systems; * Organizational skills, attention to detail, strong communication abilities, problem-solving capacity, strategic vision, and results orientation. The Library Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising library activities, ensuring efficient access to information, appropriate collection management, and delivery of services meeting users’ needs. This role involves leading staff, developing projects, and implementing policies and procedures that promote reading, research, and education. * Manage the collection: selection, acquisition, cataloging, classification, organization, and weeding of materials (books, periodicals, digital media, etc.). * Supervise staff: assign tasks, guide technicians and assistants, conduct training sessions and performance evaluations. * Serve users: assist in information searches, support research activities, supervise loans, returns, and renewals. * Prepare for and accompany visits by the Ministry of Education (MEC) to the library. * Develop policies and procedures: establish library usage rules, ensure collection preservation, and maintain quality standards. * Promote cultural and educational initiatives: organize events, reading clubs, workshops, exhibitions, and other activities. * Manage resources and budget: monitor expenditures, requisition supplies, plan investments, and oversee supplier contracts. * Manage automation systems: operate and supervise library management software (e.g., Biblio, Pergamum, Sophia, etc.). * Ensure maintenance of physical and technological infrastructure: oversee equipment, furniture, and facilities. * Produce reports and indicators: track usage statistics, prepare periodic documents, and propose improvements. * Foster inclusion and accessibility: promote practices ensuring universal access to information. 2512030202191898731
