The Refrigeration Mechanic for Transport is responsible for ensuring optimal operation of refrigeration systems installed on trucks, vans, and refrigerated bodies, guaranteeing proper cargo preservation throughout the entire journey. **Key responsibilities:** Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration units (Thermo King, Carrier, etc.) Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults Perform refrigerant gas charging and recovery Inspect and repair compressors, evaporators, condensers, and other components Identify leaks and conduct pressure and leak-tightness tests Adjust temperature settings according to transported cargo requirements Interpret technical manuals and operational schematics Complete maintenance reports and service orders **Daily work routine:** Start the day by reviewing service orders and priorities Inspect equipment arriving for maintenance Conduct technical diagnostics (visual, electrical, functional) Carry out necessary repairs or scheduled maintenance Perform system functionality tests and performance validation Release vehicles after quality checklist verification Maintain workplace organization and tool/parts inventory control **Important competencies:** Knowledge of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems Basic understanding of automotive electricity and embedded electronics Attention to detail and analytical capability Agility in problem-solving Commitment to safety and environmental regulations **Preferred qualifications:** Experience with transport refrigeration equipment Certification in refrigerant handling Knowledge of electronic diagnostics This role is essential for logistics operations dependent on the cold chain, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance during transportation of sensitive products.
