The company has **3000 professionals** and an international network of **56 subsidiaries and branch offices in 22 countries**, ensuring its clients receive fast, customized solutions. **Job Description** The Controls Safety Designer is responsible for safety analysis at the control and software level for vehicle dynamics and chassis characteristics. **Key Responsibilities:** * Define the technical safety concept at the control/SW level; * Analyze the control/SW architecture and provide related safety requirements to the control development team; * Perform control/security analysis of software (e.g., SW FMEA, FTA, DFA) to ensure integrity and correctness of defined concepts; * Provide detailed SW safety controls/requirements allocated to each SW component to implement the safety mechanism; * Define test cases to be executed at the vehicle level to verify safety mechanisms; * Evaluate SW safety versions based on STLA’s safety release process; * Participate in safety assessments, presenting the controls/SW safety concept and demonstrating its adequacy relative to initial requirements; * Support development and issue resolution; when necessary, assist in activities such as fault injection in vehicles or HIL testing; * Support definition, implementation, and improvement of internal processes to ensure ISO 26262 compliance for the Controls Department; * Guide other teams (e.g., control development, validation, calibration) in establishing internal processes compliant with ISO 26262; * Interface with suppliers, such as ECU suppliers, to ensure correct integration of the controls/SW safety concept into the target ECU. **Qualifications** **Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields; * Solid knowledge of functional safety processes in the automotive industry, with focus on software activities, ISO 26262 Part 6; * Familiarity with ANSYS MEDINI Analyze or equivalent safety tools; * Knowledge of requirements management, processes, standards, and system testing; * Advanced English (ability to manage documentation and meetings with project teams, suppliers, and colleagues from other countries); * Experience with Office/Google Suite or similar applications; * Basic knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition systems; * Driver’s license Category B or higher, with ability to conduct test drives (test driver experience preferred); * Willingness to undertake short business trips; * Motivated profile with proactive attitude; * Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills; * Ability to take initiative, make decisions, and deliver results; * Analytical capability; * Ability to work across multiple projects according to program priorities (discontinuity handling skills); **Preferred Qualifications:** * Familiarity with electronic vehicle architecture; * Knowledge of CAN network tools (Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.); * Proficiency or experience with ADAS technologies; * Knowledge of system-level engineering (processes, standards, and testing); * Understanding of vehicle dynamics; * Programming experience (C, C\+\+, Matlab, Python, etc.). **Additional Information** Applus IDIADA is committed to **equality,** **diversity** and **inclusion**.
