As a Segment Coordinator, your focus is optimizing student learning by designing and maintaining school routines, safeguarding team quality, and ensuring the student’s school experience is consistently outstanding. The Segment Coordinator actively cultivates a collaborative school culture aligned with the school’s values and pillars—where both staff and students feel safe and motivated to learn. This role involves engaging with students, families, and staff to strengthen alignment, reinforce guiding principles, facilitate meaningful interactions and exchanges, and enhance communication among all stakeholders.**RESPONSIBILITIES** **What You’ll Do** **Teaching and Learning:** * **Ensure student learning quality**, collecting and monitoring internal and external pedagogical evidence and outcomes, setting goals and intervention strategies jointly with the team; * **Identify and support students with specific needs**, engaging support teams when concerns arise; * **Ensure school-proposed methodologies and curricula** are correctly implemented and effectively serve student learning both inside and outside the classroom; * **Ensure team quality**, conducting regular lesson observations, evaluating teacher and teaching assistant effectiveness, and making adjustments as needed; * **Contribute to long-, medium-, and short-term planning meetings**, aiming to assess the pedagogical experience being offered to students within your segment. . **Student Experience** * Monitor pedagogical spaces for aesthetics and functionality; organize their use thoughtfully and efficiently to foster calmness and order. Ensure environments are safe (Safeguarding); * Listen to students to understand what they appreciate—and dislike—about school; * Consider playtime, supporting the creation of environments that foster positive relationships, equity, and variety; * Evaluate students’ school routines, ensuring they are balanced, rich, alternate between guided and autonomous moments, and offer optimal learning opportunities for all students without distinction. **Pedagogical Routines and Culture Building** * Design and monitor segment-level pedagogical processes, balancing efficiency with purpose, always prioritizing optimal student learning and strategic allocation of teacher time and resources; * Develop and refine the timetable well in advance; * Supervise implementation of disciplinary policies, empowering staff in conflict resolution and personally facilitating more serious cases. . **School Community Engagement** * Organize, guide, and supervise parent-teacher conferences, supporting teams to ensure students requiring additional attention receive individualized follow-up; * Provide weekly communications to teachers (alignments) and families (updates); * Guide and supervise teachers in engaging families and the wider community to support children’s learning—meeting personally or jointly with the teacher; * Develop, promote, and supervise school events celebrating Eleva School’s culture and philosophy (e.g., Open House, cultural events); * Support student retention and recruitment by identifying, implementing, and highlighting our unique selling points to families; * Conduct and evaluate satisfaction surveys, developing strategic plans to address areas needing improvement. **Resource Management:** * Create reasonable lists of instructional materials—only including items actually used within the pedagogical framework—aligned with the segment’s budget, balancing cost, quality, and impact. *Although we strive to include all major responsibilities and duties for this position, certain relevant activities may not be explicitly listed.
