**Schedule:** 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, 12x36 shift pattern, December
**Required:** Elementary education
**Desirable (an advantage for the candidate, not a requirement for hiring):** Experience in industrial or hospital kitchens and technical courses in the field
Verify patients’ diet charts at scheduled times; portion meals according to prescriptions; load daily meals onto food carts; deliver prescribed dietary meals to patients and their companions in patient rooms; wash and sanitize coffee and milk bottles served; prepare and serve juices or other beverages provided by the department. Assist in meal preparation and pre-preparation; wash utensils and equipment used by the Nutrition and Dietetics Service (NDS); clean and organize the department; perform daily cleaning; portion meals for staff, physicians, residents, and institutional companions; and prepare beverages for snacks. Verify patients’ diet charts at scheduled times per medical prescription to ensure appropriate patient nutrition, as well as review the special cards prepared by nutritionists; load daily meals onto food carts; portion and distribute dietary meals to patients and companions; collect companions’ signatures to record the number of meals distributed; wash and sanitize coffee, tea, and milk bottles served in patient rooms using appropriate products to maintain food quality; prepare and serve juices in disposable cups or plastic pitchers, as requested on the daily requisition forms from inpatient units and CTIS; complete forms recording data on served meals to maintain sector performance indicators; label served meals to comply with sanitary surveillance regulations and internal institutional procedures, following correct patient identification protocols; wash containers in the pantry daily; set up containers in the pantry daily; transcribe daily the quantity of meals served to patients onto the diet chart; clean pantry floors at the end of each shift; perform general cleaning of the pantry and food carts on weekends; attend departmental meetings and training sessions; attend external training sessions; portion desserts for patients and staff. Perform pre-preparation of the next day’s soup; prepare the night snack; serve supper to patients and companions; soak beans for cooking; deliver meals to patients upon request; serve dinner to staff; prepare breakfast coffee, tea, and milk; perform cleaning tasks according to the daily cleaning schedule; deliver snacks for institutional events whenever required; collect containers used during institutional events; cook food according to demand; pack disposable cutlery daily; attend departmental meetings and training sessions; attend external training sessions. Participate in and suggest improvements to quality tools, including description, verification, and application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process maps; observe safety, environmental control, and other internal standards and/or applicable legislation relevant to assigned duties; Tasks to be performed when working internally in the kitchen and cafeteria: assist the cook in meal preparation as needed; prepare and separate salads into properly labeled plastic containers; sort beans; verify water level in the thermal serving counter before turning it on; perform daily tasks according to the daily cleaning schedule; verify dish sanitation and transport dishes to the cafeteria; transfer meal containers from the refrigerator to the warming cabinet at the designated time; portion meals into sinks for the cafeteria; prepare coffee, tea, and boil milk, storing them in thermal bottles to serve staff, patients, and companions during snack time; carry coffee and tea bottles to the cafeteria for staff afternoon snack; thoroughly wash pots, removing all dirt and preventing residue buildup; select, weigh, process, and sanitize vegetables; prepare the day’s salad offerings; pre-prepare side dishes and salads for the next day’s lunch; portion lunch for staff in the cafeteria; replenish food on the cafeteria’s thermal serving counter as needed; wash plates and cutlery used by staff and companions in the cafeteria during lunchtime; weigh and record leftover intake and dirty leftovers from lunch on the meal control spreadsheet; count and record staff and companion meal tickets; sanitize equipment; sanitize the workplace; assist in kitchen cleaning at the end of the shift; participate in and suggest improvements to quality tools, including description, verification, and application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process maps; observe safety, environmental control, and other internal standards and/or applicable legislation relevant to assigned duties; perform other similar tasks as determined by management.
