Job Summary: Professional responsible for testing, maintenance, and operation of radio communication equipment, ensuring the safety and efficiency of maritime communications. Key Highlights: 1. Familiarity with navigation rules and emergency communications. **Our Values:** * We conduct our business with RESPECT * We always act with INTEGRITY * We trust in TEAMWORK * We deliver EXCELLENCE in our business * Nothing is more important than your SAFETY and that of your colleagues. **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** Perform tests on equipment under your responsibility according to required periodicity (SSB, VHF, UHF, EPIRB, SART, visual signaling equipment, etc.); * Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on radio communication equipment and accessories, such as antennas, batteries, converters, etc., according to required periodicity; * Maintain the Radio Communication Logbook; * Provide the Captain with weather forecasts, Notices to Mariners, communications from other vessels regarding emergencies, time signals, or any other communication relevant to the vessel’s command; * Promptly inform the First Officer of any defect preventing proper operation of the vessel’s Radio Station equipment; * Maintain the Radio Room in orderly and clean condition, ensuring preservation and operational efficiency of spare equipment, tools, measuring instruments, publications, manuals, forms, and administrative materials used in service execution; * Keep updated the inventory of all fixed and consumable materials of the Radio Station for which you are responsible, including logbooks; * Assist in inspections and surveys conducted on Radio Station equipment, providing requested information; * Request necessary supplies for onboard station services and deliver them to the First Officer for appropriate handling; * File messages, radiotelexes, confirmations of radiotelephone communications, Meteorological Bulletins, Notices to Mariners, Meteorological Observation Bulletins, and other vessel-relevant information in special folders; * Initiate and respond to international-standard communications, if applicable; * Supervise and guide repairs of equipment under your responsibility when carried out by shore-based workshops; * Maintain continuous radio communication service on appropriate frequencies during your watch periods; * Ensure all relevant information is communicated during watch handover; * Identify and respond to distress signals; * Stay informed about new rules and regulations governing your activities; * Keep all GMDSS publications up to date; * Stay informed about contractual terms and the client’s contingency system; * Register crew members and passengers onboard and keep personnel lists updated; * Contact port operators to report ETA or ETD; * Prepare documentation for port clearance; * Be familiar with access control across different security levels; * Assist in monitoring validity of certificates for equipment under your responsibility; * Verify validity of your "Maritime Health Certificate" and ensure its renewal prior to expiration. \*\*\*\*\*All our onshore opportunities are also open to PwD (Persons with Disabilities).
