Our leading technologies and ability to apply them safely and effectively create value for our customers and shareholders. **As a Boring Mill Operator I, your responsibilities will include:** **DAILY TASKS** * Conduct pre-job meetings, completing forms and checklists, reviewing procedures and documents required for the operation, with the objective of verifying that all necessary items for carrying out the activity are available. * Move parts to the machine using overhead cranes, hoists, slings, lifting eyes, chains, and shackles, following safety procedures and isolating the area. * Prepare the part on the machine — securely fix the part onto the boring mill table according to instructions provided by Industrial Engineering (document: setup sheet), ensuring the part does not move during machining operations. * Isolate the work area, following established safety procedures. * Capture zero points by recording zero point data as specified by Industrial Engineering, using dial indicators, comparators, or probe heads. This activity ensures that CNC program coordinates align with the geometric positioning of the part. * Tool zeroing — touch the tool against the part or use a gauge block between the tool and part to establish reference zero. Manually input values into the machine to determine the starting point (zero point) of the tool relative to the part for machining. * Perform machining operations on Wotan boring mills — parts are machined according to predefined sequences in the CNC program. Operations such as milling, drilling, tapping, and internal profile machining with special tools will be performed, transforming raw materials into customer project-specified dimensions. * Inspect machined dimensions using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, tubular gauges, ball gauges, dial indicators, and others, ensuring no parts are produced outside customer specification tolerances. * Perform machining using angular heads — mount angular heads on the machine, adjusting angles as specified by Industrial Engineering, to perform operations at specific angles and degrees, including hard-to-reach internal diameters. **Fuel your passion** **To succeed in this role, you must have:** * High school diploma * CNC Milling course * Previous experience in the role * Dimensional control * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings * Knowledge of machining methods and processes * Ability to identify and record safety findings * Ability to identify and suggest process improvements * Availability to work in shifts * Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD\&T) **Desired characteristics:** * Handling and transporting parts using overhead cranes * Basic knowledge of software: Oracle, Epims, Gensuite, Manusis * Knowledge of tooling and consumables used in existing production processes * Basic LEAN training * CNC programming * Courses in Metallurgy * Problem-solving skills * Knowledge of Oil and Gas products * Intermediate English proficiency **Work in a way that works for you** We recognize everyone is different and that people want to work and perform at their best in different ways. **Working with us** Our people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
