




Job Summary: A professional responsible for testing, maintaining, and operating radio communication equipment on vessels, ensuring safety and communication. Key Highlights: 1. Management and communication of relevant information for the vessel **Our Values:** * We conduct our business with RESPECT * We always act with INTEGRITY * We trust in TEAMWORK * We deliver EXCELLENCE in our business * Nothing is more important than your SAFETY and that of your colleagues. **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** Performing tests on equipment under your responsibility according to required periodicity (SSB, VHF, UHF, EPIRB, SART, visual signaling equipment, etc.); * Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on radio communication equipment and accessories such as antennas, batteries, converters, etc., in accordance with required periodicity; * Maintaining the Radio Communication Logbook; * Providing the Captain with weather forecasts, Notices to Mariners, communications from other vessels regarding emergencies, time signals, or any other communications relevant to the vessel’s command; * Reporting promptly to the First Officer any defects preventing the operation of the vessel’s Radio Station equipment; * Keeping the Radio Room orderly and clean, ensuring the proper condition and efficiency of spare equipment, tools, measuring instruments, publications, manuals, forms, and administrative materials used in performing duties; * Maintaining an updated inventory of all fixed and consumable materials of the Radio Station for which you are responsible, including logbooks; * Assisting during inspections and surveys conducted on Radio Station equipment, providing requested information; * Requesting necessary supplies for the onboard radio station and delivering them to the First Officer for appropriate handling; * Archiving messages, radiotelexes, confirmations of radiotelephone communications, Meteorological Bulletins, Notices to Mariners, Meteorological Observation Bulletins, and other vessel-relevant information in dedicated folders; * Sending and responding to international standard communications, where applicable; * Supervising and guiding repairs of equipment under your responsibility when performed by shore-based workshops; * Maintaining continuous radio communication service on appropriate frequencies during your watch periods; * Ensuring all relevant information has been communicated during watch handover; * Identifying and responding to distress signals; * Staying informed about new rules and regulations governing your activities; * Keeping all GMDSS publications up to date; * Staying informed about contractual terms and the client’s contingency system; * Registering crew members and passengers onboard, as well as maintaining updated lists of personnel onboard; * Contacting port operators to report ETA or ETD; * Preparing documentation for port clearance; * Being familiar with access control across different security levels; * Assisting in monitoring the validity of certificates for equipment under your responsibility; * Checking that your "Maritime Health Certificate" is valid and ensuring its renewal before expiration. *****All our onshore opportunities are also open to PWDs (Persons with Disabilities).
