We are seeking an **Assistant Derrickhand** to join our operational team. Job Mission: Work in the pump compartment, operate and maintain the mud pump and mud mixing equipment. Keep records and logs of additives for drilling fluid and variations in mud properties. **Responsibilities and duties** * Monitor the weight, viscosity, pH, and solid content of the drilling fluid. Report any irregularities to the Supervisor. * Understand the effects that various chemical additives have on the properties and conditions of drilling fluid. * Monitor mud pumps and mud tanks during operations. * Report to the Driller any unexplained increase/decrease in tank level. * Participate in pre\-job meetings with the drilling crew regarding all non\-routine drilling operations. * Check and monitor machinery oil levels in areas such as the mud pump compartment, mud processing area, and change or add oils when necessary. * Maintain daily records of drilling chemicals and mud materials.
