The Track Database team (also known as Subdiv) is responsible for creating the database containing the virtual railway map and all information consumed by systems involved in the PTC solution, such as the onboard system, office system, interlocking manager, wayside system, among others. How will you make a difference? As the leader of the Track Database department (also known as Subdiv), you will be responsible for the interface between Wabtec’s customers and development teams. You will lead the team in preparing the necessary artifacts for accurate documentation of field maps. You will implement solutions in engineering, development, and testing processes for the track database. You will oversee integrated testing and commissioning of new versions. Finally, you will maintain product functionality. What do we want to know about you?* Knowledge in developing Track Databases; * Prior experience in railway operations; Advanced English communication skills; * Knowledge of Microsoft Access; Intermediate/advanced proficiency in the Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio); * Programming language knowledge; Familiarity with agile methodologies, SCRUM or others; Windows operating systems; * Knowledge of Google Earth Pro; Experience in preparing effort estimates and technical specification documents within the scope of track database activities; Basic knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools; What will your typical day look like?* Manage the Subdiv Track Database team to achieve on-time deliveries; Organize team structure and growth; * Manage team workload and tasks; Lead preparation of required documentation to record deliveries and processes related to field validations and track database creation; * Plan field and office work for all Wabtec customers within the scope of track services; Interface with and support customers/users; Automate processes in developing track files; * Manage field teams to perform Critical Characteristics Validations; Communicate results to leadership.
