Join our family! **Responsibilities and Duties** * Conduct safe navigation in accordance with the Shipping Company’s procedures and ensure all watchkeeping crew members are fully familiarized with these procedures; * Comply with, and enforce compliance by all subordinates, with applicable laws and regulations, maintaining discipline aboard the vessel and overseeing the performance of duties by crew members of all categories and functions under your command; * Maintain onboard filing systems and all Company records, as well as other documents required to be retained or submitted; * Ensure compliance with any applicable local or international legal regulations affecting the vessel; \- Implement and document onboard training as required by international regulations and the Oceânica Management System; * Report any accidents and/or damage affecting the vessel, its crew, or its cargo to the Company and other relevant parties, as necessary; * Manage voyage expenses and resource utilization; * Ensure each crew member assumes personal responsibility for safety, environmental, and quality aspects of their own work; * Be responsible for ensuring appropriate health and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the vessel; \- Monitor crew embarkation and disembarkation; * Ensure compliance with Working and Rest Hours Regulations; * Supervise onboard medical assistance; \- Ensure the onboard complaint procedure is applied in accordance with Company requirements; * Execute the vessel’s contract professionally and competently; * Ensure voyage orders are fully understood and implemented; * Ensure Process Safety Risk Assessments—covering scenarios that could result in major accidents—are effectively and continuously managed, that risk assessment procedures are observed onboard, and, if necessary, shore-based support is obtained to mitigate identified risks; * Perform duties in compliance with applicable national regulations (DPC-NORMAM 13 Chapter 4 Section I, item 0403 and Section III, item 0419) and international regulations, as well as with the Oceânica Management System; * Review and sign documents upon completion of operations; * Hold regular meetings to review the Company’s Management System compliance, agree on appropriate improvement measures, and coordinate implementation and execution; * Inform the Company when voyage/cargo instructions cannot be fulfilled and/or when planned voyage instructions are unclear/uncertain; * Be responsible for cargo and ballast operations to ensure they are carried out safely and efficiently; * Coordinate with the Maritime Safety and Quality department to improve environmental and quality performance through reports and proposals; * Ensure training, welfare, discipline, and other administrative matters necessary for onboard activities; \- Ensure all crew members know their emergency responsibilities and stations, including any required onboard training; * Supervise onboard waste management; * Ensure commercial considerations do not take precedence over safety and environmental protection; * Ensure sufficient bunkers and supplies are onboard before commencing a voyage; * Protect the interests of the shipowner and the Company at all times; * Comply with the Oceânica Management System Policy, whereby each individual must assume responsibility for quality, occupational health and safety, process safety, and environmental preservation in their activities, provided no conflict arises with applicable regulations; * Ensure awareness of and control actions regarding activity-related risks, considering Safety, Environment, Health, and Process Safety requirements. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Sciences; * Experience as a Second Mate; * DP Full Certificate; * CoC—DPC Certificate of Competence No. 1031, STCW Regulation II/2 + IV/2; * TBS1 (STCW VI/1)—Basic Safety Training / Unified Certificate (ECIN/ESPE/EBPS/ESRS); * EOPN/SSO—Special Course for Ship Security Officer (STCW-VI/5) **or** EBCP—Basic Ship Security Awareness Course (STCW VI/6) (*Mandatory if EOPN/SSO is not held); * ECIA—Advanced Fire-Fighting Course (STCW-VI/3); * EESS—Special Course in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats; * EROG / GMDSS—Special Course for General Radio Operator (STCW-IV/2); * T-HUET. **Additional Information** **Working Conditions:** * Employment regime: Maritime; * Schedule: 28 days on / 28 days off. **Benefits:** * Meal allowance or meal voucher; * Health insurance plan extendable to legal dependents; * Dental insurance plan extendable to legal dependents; * Life insurance; * Wellhub (formerly Gympass); * English language course.
