Job Summary: CIDACS/Fiocruz Bahia is seeking a Data Engineering Fellow to carry out activities on the CIDACS-Clima platform, which focuses on the effects of climate change on health. Candidates will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure on the Climate Data Platform We seek highly motivated, creative candidates with strong communication skills for multidisciplinary environments. We strongly encourage applications from Black researchers, LGBTQIA\+, persons with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Automate data ingestion workflows from national health systems and other external sources; * Collaborate with data analysts and front\-end developers to ensure database availability and performance; * Build automation routines and integrate with third\-party services or cloud providers; * Create and manage containerized environments for data processing applications; * Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for integration across multiple sources; * Implement monitoring routines for data quality, consistency, and security; * Design and architect relational and non\-relational databases, ensuring integrity and performance; * Optimize queries and structure data warehouses (BigQuery) to support data analysis. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields; * Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and participate in technical\-scientific meetings; * Proficiency with version control tools (Git/GitHub); * Knowledge of data modeling and Data Warehousing architecture; * Experience with Airflow and BigQuery; * Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) and NoSQL databases; * Experience with programming languages for data engineering (especially Python and SQL); * Familiarity with concepts of data cleaning, standardization, and data quality; * Technical English (reading); * Basic knowledge of Linux infrastructure and Bash; **What Would Be a Plus: \*** * Experience using administrative health and demographic data; * Fluency in English; * Absence of these preferred qualifications does not disqualify applicants but may be used as a tiebreaker. **Additional Information** CIDACS is a Data Center that seeks to understand, study, and evaluate, through Big Data, the health conditions of the Brazilian population, thereby supporting public managers, researchers, and the community.
