Within this context, the work focuses on carbon offsetting — defined by the IPCC as removing from the atmosphere the non-avoidable portion of residual emissions. The objective of this role is to develop our network and expertise in this rapidly evolving field, which is witnessing the emergence of new technologies and business models. During this assignment, your key responsibilities will be the following: 1\) Understand and expand our knowledge of the South American carbon offsetting ecosystem. 2\) Identify and analyze offerings from startups active in the market. 3\) Develop Group business activities by identifying new business opportunities. 4\) Support the local team in monitoring and implementing the economic performance improvement plan for a biochar plant. This position resides within the Tech Research entity, responsible for Group innovation. This team brings together a wide diversity of profiles, skills, and backgrounds — a strength for international-scale activities addressing scientific, technological, societal, and economic challenges. After an initial on-site integration period, you may perform part of your assignment remotely. The balance between on-site and remote work will be determined based on departmental and organizational needs, in coordination with your mentor.
