Job Requisition \#: 032892 Production Assistant (Open) Job Description:* Removes burrs, sharp edges, and material excesses using a knife to ensure products are fit for use and meet quality standards; * Performs visual inspections on all products and packages them according to specifications to ensure product quality; * Verifies product weight by placing the package on a scale and comparing it against the specified weight range to ensure compliance with required specifications; * Records scrap and machine downtime in the Progea system collector for production control; * Enters new production orders into the Progea system; * Completes the process tracking sheet with product and machine information for production control; * Cleans the production line using appropriate protective clothing, clean cloths, degreaser, vacuum cleaner, and broom to keep equipment clean, organized, and well-maintained; * Cuts the parison during setup changeovers or machine startups, monitoring the changeovers to initiate production of a new product; * Performs rework on batches presenting issues, repackaging reworked products and verifying weights to prevent non-conforming products from reaching customers; * Ensures organization of the production line in accordance with the company’s implemented 7S program; * Grinds parts and burrs; requests machine repairs when process deviations are detected; * Rotates to cover machines during breaks, lunch, dinner, late-night snack, restroom use, and workplace exercise sessions; * Responsible for personal safety and the safety of nearby colleagues; At Greif, we believe that our colleagues are the center of our success.
