BUTCHER ASSISTANT - SALINAS/MG

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Assist in preparing meat cuts for sale, sorting them by type, cleaning and storing them on the counter; * Support customer service at the butcher counter, separating, cutting, preparing and grinding meats and attaching price labels; * Assist in restocking, storage and organization of meat pieces and chicken cuts. **REQUIREMENTS:** * High school diploma; * Availability to work required hours; * Previous experience in the role is desirable. * Assist the butcher in preparing meat cuts for sale, sorting them by type, cleaning and storing them on the counter or in refrigerated or frozen chambers. * Support customer service at the butcher counter, separating, cutting, preparing and grinding meats, sawing bone-in or frozen products, tenderizing, weighing and attaching price labels according to customer requests, and referring any doubts or issues to the butcher or Butcher Department Coordinator to ensure proper customer service. * Assist in restocking and storage, organizing meat pieces and chicken cuts inside refrigerators or freezers to facilitate customer service and preserve product quality. * Assist in replenishing display islands, replacing damaged, expired or soon-to-expire products, organizing them by type, restocking when necessary, and reporting any concerns to the butcher or Butcher Department Coordinator for resolution. * Keep knives sharp and clean to ensure immediate usability. * Keep all equipment, utensils, machines, counters and floors clean, sanitized and organized during work and at the end of the shift, using recommended cleaning products to ensure complete hygiene in the butcher shop environment. * Perform other tasks of similar nature and level of complexity and responsibility as instructed by supervisors.
