Responsibilities within the area of operation:
* Assist in organizing and guiding the team, while monitoring team members' tasks to ensure product quality within the department;
* Determine and ensure adequate production so that all items in the product mix are consistently available in the sales area;
* Be accountable for product pricing, expiration dates, and display;
* Assist the Coordinator in purchasing fresh beef and pork, always seeking quality and competitive pricing;
* Ensure and approve the quality, temperature, weight, etc., of butcher products upon receipt, as well as their proper destination and storage;
* Keep the procurement department informed about inventory levels and demand;
* Be responsible for purchasing fresh meat intended for sale in the butcher department;
* Monitor team members’ compliance with all public agency regulations (INMETRO, health surveillance, municipal authorities, SIM/SIE);
* Work in accordance with technical and quality standards, as well as safety, hygiene, and occupational health procedures;
* Supervise cleanliness, workplace hygiene, and organization of cold rooms and display counters, including monitoring their temperatures;
* Daily efforts to reduce product losses and spoilage caused by handling errors, inattention during handling, temperature-related issues, etc., reporting findings to store management;
* Train staff on appropriate handling methods for each product type to prevent operational failures;
* Define staffing schedules and quantities together with the Coordinator, considering seasonal flow (hourly/weekly/monthly);
* Monitor proper usage and condition of equipment under responsibility and report preventive or corrective maintenance needs to the responsible department;
* Enforce uniform and PPE usage by the work team;
* Respect rest periods when working inside refrigerated or frozen chambers;
* Assist the Coordinator and HR in hiring new staff for the department;
* Monitor training of new employees within the department;
* Conduct functional evaluations of new employees during their probationary period;
* Prepare work schedules for teams under supervision and submit them to the store manager the week before the start of the month for approval.
* Manage employees’ working hours;
* Conduct team meetings to review results and define actions;
* Issue warnings, suspensions, or terminations as necessary, per company policy;
* Guide and require excellent customer service at Passarela;
* Strive to keep the team motivated.
