Perform maintenance and repair services on heavy equipment, including: medium- to heavy-duty trucks, tractors, industrial and field operating machines, among others; diagnose causes and effects; perform hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic installations and repairs; utilize analyses, techniques, and specialized tools; carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure operational readiness of equipment used in earthmoving and related operations or systems. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Perform maintenance on hydraulic excavators, motor graders (patrol), front-end loaders, backhoe loaders, compacting rollers, tractors, and other equipment used in earthmoving operations or operations involving waste, leachate, construction projects, etc., conducting disassembly and testing, examining specifications and operational status to verify operational conditions; * Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy vehicles (box trucks, tractor-trailers, vacuum trucks, dump trucks, tank trucks, trucks, etc.), identifying possible abnormalities or failures, replacing parts, and conducting tests to restore or maintain such equipment; * Repair pumps and generators within systems, including disassembly, cleaning, maintenance, part replacement, reassembly, and testing, to support preventive and corrective maintenance; * Assemble repaired units, adjusting components and performing couplings using specific instruments to restore operational functionality; * Lubricate moving parts using greases, oils, and similar products to protect equipment and ensure optimal performance; * Verify work results by operating equipment under real-world conditions and conducting various types of tests to confirm compliance with targeted operational standards; * Actively participate in emergency operations, following procedures as trained, remaining vigilant across all activities—including proper use of personal protective equipment—to add value to the task force in immediately containing critical situations; * Conduct disassembly and assembly tasks, observing fits, adjustments, and functional testing, guided by manufacturer drawings to perform maintenance work according to targeted standards; * Report requirements for materials, equipment, and tools needed for assigned tasks to guide procurement or recovery efforts; * Remain vigilant regarding unsafe acts or conditions—whether within internal teams or third-party contractors—and report and/or take preventive actions per institutional instructions received; * Keep supervisors informed about completed work and challenges encountered, recommending alternative maintenance solutions to enhance departmental effectiveness; * Comply with policies, procedures, and standards established by the specific management system, using preventive equipment, adhering to regulatory norms and procedures, reporting deviations, and proposing corrections for unsafe acts to support implementation and maintenance of normative, legal, and SGI1-related requirements. * Participate in internal events / campaigns / training sessions related to the SGI; * Perform other tasks of similar nature and complexity, as directed by the supervisor. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Minimum Education: Completion of 8th grade (Fundamental Education). NR-11 and NR-12 training is mandatory due to the possibility of operating machinery within the unit for maintenance testing purposes. * Officially recognized Maintenance Mechanics apprenticeship program (e.g., SENAI or equivalent) under the official education system.
