Production Operator
The production operator is responsible for the cylinder filling process of various gases, ensuring that cylinders are filled safely and efficiently, following all safety and quality regulations and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
**1\-** **Preparation and Inspection:**
* Handle cylinders manually, using carts and/or electric pallet trucks.
* Follow mandatory instructions in Standard Operating Procedure POP.008 for cylinder inspection and Work Instruction (IT).
* Visually inspect cylinders for damage, external corrosion, deformations, defects, paint condition, presence of grease or oil before filling.
* Check the validity of the cylinder's hydrostatic test.
* Operate a grinding machine if information on the cylinder cap is illegible.
* Register industrial cylinders and subsequently apply ID labels and/or QRCODE.
* Ensure that equipment including valves and connections are in good working condition.
* Reject cylinders for filling if any non-conformity is detected; in case of doubt, consult the Shift Supervisor or Department Supervisor.
**2\-** **Filling Process:**
* Operate gas cylinder filling equipment according to POP.009 and IT.
* Monitor pressure indicators, control panels, and temperature during filling to ensure safe gas storage.
* Adjust systems and regulators as necessary to maintain safe operating conditions.
* Fill out internal production records.
**3\-** **Quality Control:**
* Follow instructions described in Operational Procedures.
* Assist in sorting filled medical cylinders for laboratory analysis.
* Assist the laboratory with standard gases during analyzer calibration checks.
* Remove old packaging materials (labels and seals) from industrial cylinders.
* Conduct tests to verify valve leakage in cylinders.
* Perform tests to check final cylinder pressure after filling.
* Label and seal industrial cylinders after filling.
* Fill out internal production records.
**4\-** **Equipment Handling:**
* Maintain and ensure the proper condition of equipment, tools, and utensils: electric pallet truck, cages, carts, panels, pumps, scales, hoses, manometers, grinder, among others.
* Fill out internal records.
**5\-** **Maintenance and Cleaning**
* Perform cleaning and basic maintenance of filling equipment.
* Ensure that the work area is clean and organized at the end of each shift.
