Outside our organization, we ensure protection of people, communities, and the environment around us. **Position Overview** * Support the Animal Health facility in maintaining compliance with local and corporate EHS requirements. * Work with the site EHS manager to implement best management practices to ensure sustained EHS compliance. * Support specific EHS programs as assigned (e.g., machine guarding, risk assessments, incident management, ergonomics, chemical management, high-risk work \- fall protection, suspended cranes and slings, EHS training, LOTO and line break, and others). * Support the site and personnel in implementing new standards as assigned by the EHS strategy. * Coordinate efforts to prevent EHS incidents at the site, participate in investigations and root cause analysis. * Conduct on-site inspections and audits, escalating potential gaps/concerns as appropriate. * Train site personnel on corporate policies, local requirements, and best practices. * Support site engineering on significant capital projects and product transfers. * Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments in accordance with our Change Management procedures. * Develop and deliver effective EHS training to employees to enhance their EHS awareness and skills. * Ensure regulatory EHS compliance with federal, state, and municipal agencies, as well as support health and safety management to maintain compliance with legal requirements. * Identify and qualitatively assess hazards and risks associated with site activities, including support for high-risk work programs and site area inspections. * Plan, develop, and deliver EHS training; lead the site emergency response team and emergency plan; audit processes and conduct EHS-related self-assessments. * Work as a team member within the EHS team and the site team. **Education, Skills and Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree completed * Technical Certificate in Occupational Safety, mandatory. * Relevant EHS experience in industry and substantial experience in multinational companies. * Postgraduate degree in Occupational Safety Engineering, preferred. * Intermediate English proficiency. \#BRAnimal \#OportunidadesVeterBR **Required Skills:** Customer Partnerships, Dispensing Pharmacy, Fall Protection Training, Hazard Analysis, Hazard Identification (HAZID), Identifying Risks, IS Audit, Legal Compliance, Prescription Drugs, Process Audits, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Assessments, Risk Control Assessment, Risk Monitoring, Safety Procedures**Preferred Skills:** Current Employees apply HERE Current Contingent Workers apply HERE **Search Firm Representatives Please Read Carefully** Merck \& Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, also known as Merck Sharp \& Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA, does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
