Description: The Toolmaker is the central professional responsible for managing, maintaining, controlling inventory of, and distributing tooling and setup equipment. He ensures that tools are in perfect condition, organized, and safe for use, and actively participates in machine setup according to Production Order (PO) specifications, guaranteeing continuity and quality of the production process. Responsibilities and Duties * Maintain control over the tools used by the setup team, ensuring their good condition, full functionality, organization, and storage. * Verify equipment status to ensure safe usage. E.g., hoists, broken tools that could cause unsafe acts. * Comply with NR10 requirements. Request an electrician every time electrical components need to be powered on/off. * Direct management to request replacement or refurbishment of tools and equipment unfit for use; open service orders (SOs) and submit requests in the system. * Remain permanently informed and updated regarding technical bulletins and production and PCP demands. * Maintain spreadsheet-based control of tool inventories (e.g., conduct tooling/equipment damage/shortage assessments). * Monitor and actively participate in tracking parts and their status. * Daily control of tool distribution to production machines: receive Production Orders with product specifications (dimensions, tolerances, thicknesses, etc.), locate the appropriate tool, and make it available for equipment setup. * Ensure maintenance, storage, and preservation of texture rolls. * Participate with the Operator in machine setup to initiate the production process after machine maintenance intervention: replace, assemble, and adjust tools according to dimensions specified in Production Orders; monitor equipment startup for test operation; perform necessary adjustments; and release for production. * Maintain control of used tooling via spreadsheets registering each tool’s specifications, whether active or inactive, under maintenance or disposable due to breakage or lack of application, as well as each tool’s characteristics (properties, dimensions, tolerances, etc.) for identification, sorting, and routing to assembly. * Ensure order and cleanliness of the workplace, equipment, and tools; request maintenance services when necessary; observe safety procedures during operations; and ensure proper use of PPE. * Responsible for monitoring and advising on tooling procurement or modification due to new products, changes to original designs, or simple part wear: receive requests; contact or prospect suppliers; obtain price and delivery-time quotations; seek purchase-order approval; receive and inspect items; verify specifications; record receipt in control spreadsheets; and store in the warehouse. * Perform other job-related tasks as directed by superiors.
