Senior Java Backend Developer

Job Summary: The professional will be responsible for the development and evolution of critical backend platforms, with a focus on architecture, integrations, operational robustness, and software quality. Key Highlights: 1. Experience in highly technically and business-complex digital projects. 2. Development and evolution of critical backend services in Java. 3. Active participation in technical decisions and definition of standards. Context GoK works on digitally complex technical and business projects within transactional, regulated environments requiring high security, performance, observability, and governance. The professional will contribute to the development and evolution of critical backend platforms, focusing on architecture, integrations, operational robustness, and software quality, supporting diverse contexts and technical challenges over time. Responsibilities * Develop and evolve Java-based backend services, handling critical business workflows. * Design, implement, and evolve robust, versioned REST APIs. * Work with microservices- and BFF-based architectures. * Implement complex business logic with emphasis on reliability and traceability. * Integrate highly critical internal and external systems. * Ensure service security, performance, resilience, and observability. * Actively analyze and resolve complex issues, including in production environments. * Participate in technical decisions, architecture refinements, and standard definitions. Support less experienced developers when necessary. * Hard Skills and Technical Knowledge (Mandatory) * Modern Java (17\+ / 21\) * Spring Boot and/or Micronaut * REST API development (contracts, versioning, idempotency) * Microservices architecture * BFF pattern and service orchestration * Event-driven programming and asynchronous processing * System integration (REST, events, webhooks) * Implementation of authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC) * Error handling, timeout, retry, and circuit breaker patterns * Data persistence with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL or equivalent) * Schema versioning and migrations (Flyway, Liquibase or similar) * Messaging systems (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ or similar) * Observability (structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing) * Writing automated tests (unit and integration) * Backend application security (OWASP Top 10\) * Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Git in collaborative environments (PRs, code reviews) * Soft Skills * Clear and concise communication * Ability to work autonomously from a technical perspective * Logical and systemic thinking * Organization and accountability for deliverables * Ability to question existing solutions and propose improvements * Strong collaboration with frontend, QA, UX, and technical leadership Mature attitude in high-pressure and mission-critical system environments * Differentiators * Experience in financial systems or regulated environments * Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures * Experience with high-volume and mission-critical systems * Experience in cloud and containerized environments * Active participation in defining technical standards and architecture **Work Mode** * End-to-end involvement in the digital product development lifecycle. * Close collaboration with frontend, architecture, and business areas. * Active participation in UAT, releases, and production support. * Continuous contribution to quality, stability, and technical maturity across GoK teams.
