Dow has an opportunity for a Junior Operator position at our plant in Aratu – BA (BRA). The candidate for the Junior Operator role will be responsible for operating equipment and designated areas of the Plant, monitoring and analyzing process variables, releasing equipment for maintenance, and executing operational procedures. Responsibilities:* Your primary responsibility is to operate the plant safely, reliably, and within quality and process standards using your knowledge and operational experience. * Works with shift team members to anticipate and efficiently resolve unplanned events within the shift team's capabilities, and effectively escalates issues that cannot be resolved to the appropriate support functions. * Requires broad technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined range of activities. * Follows policies, principles, procedures, standards, and practices of Operational Discipline to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant's designated areas. Ensures proper operational discipline is applied to all planned and unplanned activities. * Operates and verifies process equipment in the field. Monitors process conditions, key performance metrics, equipment, and control systems, making appropriate decisions to maintain and/or achieve desired rates and conditions aligned with plant/site/business objectives. * Executes operational tasks. * Collaborates with shift team members and other shifts to leverage skills and knowledge to balance workload, ensuring assigned tasks are completed on time. * Conducts effective shift handovers as defined by operational discipline and tools, ensuring clear communication for the incoming shift team. * Maintains qualification in designated areas according to site policy and completes training goals timely. * Performs Immediate Response activities as assigned. * Participates in the Site Emergency Brigade. * Conducts product/process analyses in the laboratory. Qualifications:* Technical degree in chemistry, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, electromechanical, or chemical process operations. * Computer literacy. * Teamwork skills; initiative, proactivity, and interpersonal relationships; interest in continuous learning. * Availability to work rotating shifts. * Must reside in the Salvador or Lauro de Freitas region.
