Founded on February 21, 1937 by Professor José Silveira, Fundação José Silveira (FJS) has been expanding its work through a process of sustainable growth, grounded in strategic planning and focused on achieving the best results. As a nonprofit philanthropic institution, Fundação José Silveira primarily serves underserved populations, delivering high-quality services.
This is demonstrated by the reference work of our units in areas such as tuberculosis control, neonatal care, humanized childbirth, breast cancer treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with neuromotor, intellectual disabilities, and autism. Annually, we perform over 1.2 million medical consultations. FJS also promotes preventive and health promotion initiatives, along with socio-environmental actions targeting communities in Salvador and municipalities across Bahia's interior, contributing to improved social and health indicators in the state.
