Job Details
**Responsibilities:**
Oversee and conduct cruise navigation, berthing, unberthing, and convoy formation.
Coordinate and carry out maritime operations, cleaning, and maintenance of the vessel both internally and externally.
Ensure communication between deck and bridge, and assign crew members for internal communication as well as during operations requiring VHF (very high frequency) radio communication.
Inspect barge holds and perform handling operations to prepare for product loading prior to port arrival.
Assess requirements for equipment, materials, tools, and utensils needed to perform onboard activities.
Organize and distribute bed linens, bath towels, and other items to vessel crew members.
Maintain order, cleanliness, and up-to-date records/controls of the master’s storeroom inventory, in accordance with Amaggi procedures.
Collaborate with deck crew to inspect convoys, observing and making necessary adjustments to mooring lines and barge covers.
Monitor onboard waste disposal methods in compliance with Amaggi procedures and applicable regulations.
Contribute to employee training and development jointly with the Human Resources department and other area managers.
Actively participate in and support the implementation of Amaggi corporate programs and initiatives, such as Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Continuous Improvement, Quality and Food Safety Management System (QFSMS), Reliability, Socio-environmental, Compliance, and Asset Security, among others.
And other responsibilities inherent to the position, as stipulated in NORMAM 13, Chapter 4, and Amaggi procedures.
**Required Qualifications:**
Completed High School education (college degree in related fields preferred);
**Specific Knowledge and Qualifications:** Maritime legislation and regulations, maritime experience, knowledge of navigation equipment, Merchant Marine certification as a River Master;
