As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overnight operations at a Delivery Station, providing leadership to Team Leaders, Operators, and Delivery Service Providers, while managing relationships and performance of external agencies. You will work in a highly collaborative environment that resembles a startup more than a large corporation. The mindset is that no idea is a bad idea, and the best ideas are those that should be tested and experimented with. You must thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced, and dynamic environment. If you have a track record focused on quality and customer obsession, coupled with experience working in a dynamic, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment, we would love to hear from you. This role involves:
* Being based at one of our delivery stations during the overnight shift. Amazon operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; therefore, shift work—including weekends and holidays—will be part of this role.
* Overseeing operations focused on delivering Amazon orders directly to customers.
* Supporting your team of operational leaders in the daily management of the delivery station. This includes labor allocation, leading meetings, assigning tasks, and communicating with internal and external suppliers.
* Working with KPIs such as On-Time Dispatch, First-Day Delivery Success, and improving customer service.
* Thinking analytically about project management with attention to detail, ability to influence others, and exceptional organizational skills.
* Being metrics-obsessed and diving deep to quickly identify root causes to drive improvements.
* Finding practical and simple solutions to complex problems without sacrificing quality or core functionality. Leveraging exceptional problem-solving and communication skills to influence both business and technical audiences.
* Providing daily support during the rollout/implementation of new systems/processes and collecting feedback.
* Mapping business requirements, understanding business processes, studying and analyzing workflow, and designing solutions.
* Continuously utilizing software and hardware tools to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Ensuring associates have the appropriate tools to perform their jobs and coordinating repairs or replacements when necessary.
* Communicating daily metrics and reporting exceptions to other Operations departments and across Amazon, as needed.
