Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and application of biosafety **Description and Responsibilities:** **Working Hours:** 9 AM TO 6 PM **Level:** Professional **Employment Type:** Tenured \- CLT labor code ***WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE A NURSING TECHNICIAN IN MSF'S TB PROJECT?*** As a Nursing Technician in the TB project, you will directly care for incarcerated patients, collaborating with medical and nursing teams to ensure safe, humanized care aligned with the protocols of Brazil's Ministry of Health and MSF. Your role is critical to the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of tuberculosis, contributing to the quality of care, continuity of services, and reduction of transmission within prison facilities. ***WHAT WILL BE YOUR CHALLENGES?*** 1\. Direct Patient Care * Deliver nursing care according to medical and nursing prescriptions, adhering to institutional and Ministry of Health protocols. * Administer medications and monitor vital signs, maintaining accurate records in patient charts. * Assist in collecting biological samples and preparing patients for examinations and procedures. * Accompany patients during consultations and examinations, ensuring safety and comfort. 2\. Support for TB Diagnosis and Treatment Activities * Support screenings, sputum collection, and follow-up of patients undergoing treatment, in accordance with established workflows. * Monitor treatment adherence and report complications to the Supervising Nurse. * Participate in campaigns and active case-finding activities for TB within prison facilities. 3\. Infection Control and Biosafety * Ensure compliance with biosafety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * Guarantee correct disinfection of environments and used materials. * Immediately report any exposure to biological hazards, per current protocols. 4\. Support for Medication and Supply Management * Support the Pharmacy Supervisor in inventory control and rational use of medications and supplies. * Ensure proper storage and maintenance of materials and equipment, reporting needs for replenishment or repair. 5\. Documentation and Reporting * Ensure accurate completion of patient charts, forms, and other documentation tools. * Contribute to data collection and consolidation for monthly reports and project indicators. ***WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS POSITION?*** * Provide nursing care to incarcerated patients. * Conduct clinical screenings, laboratory sample collection, and support medical consultations. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in case management. * Follow TB diagnosis and treatment workflows within prison facilities. * Maintain up-to-date records and ensure effective communication with supervision. * Strictly apply biosafety and infection control practices. **Requirements:** ***REQUIREMENTS*** * Completed qualification as a Nursing Technician. * Active professional registration with COREN (Regional Nursing Council). * Knowledge of SUS (Unified Health System) protocols and biosafety standards.
