




**Description and Responsibilities:** **Working Hours:** 10 AM to 5 PM **Level:** Professional **Employment Type:** Tenured — CLT labor code ***WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE A SOCIAL WORKER IN THE MSF PROJECT?*** As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring a holistic approach to caring for incarcerated individuals undergoing tuberculosis (TB) treatment. Your role is essential in connecting patients with health services, coordinating support networks, reducing barriers to access, and guaranteeing continuity of care both within and outside the prison system. You will directly participate in service assessments, referral management, psychosocial support, and monitoring of social factors influencing treatment outcomes. ***WHAT WILL BE YOUR CHALLENGES?*** * Assess health and support services, identifying workflows, limitations, and capacities in TB care. * Map and update formal services (SUS, CAPS, UBS, hospitals) and informal services (NGOs, community networks). * Facilitate referrals and counter-referrals between the prison system and the SUS network. * Ensure secure and confidential transfer of health information. * Collaborate with MSF teams, the Ministry of Health, and SEAP to optimize workflows and processes. * Work integrally with medical and mental health (MHPSS) teams. * Identify vulnerability factors that may affect treatment adherence. * Promote active listening, social guidance, and strengthening of support networks. * Conduct data collection, indicator analysis, and contribute to monthly reports. * Document challenges, lessons learned, and progress of the project’s social component. ***WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WORKDAY LOOK LIKE?*** * Interview patients and assess social, family, and community needs. * Visit health units and support services for mapping and coordination of workflows. * Facilitate communication among patients, health teams, and external services. * Participate in interdisciplinary meetings with medical, nursing, and MHPSS teams. * Conduct social follow-ups, record-keeping, and data systematization. * Monitor referrals and ensure continuity of social care. * Contribute to internal reports, analyses, and technical documentation. * Identify barriers to care and propose solutions or process adjustments. **Requirements:** ***REQUIREMENTS*** * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. * Highly desirable: Experience in health, humanitarian, protection, or migration contexts. * Desirable: Experience with tuberculosis, prison health, and/or MSF projects; knowledge of SUS and TB control policies. ***WHAT COMPETENCIES ARE REQUIRED?*** * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work interdisciplinarily and sensitivity to social vulnerabilities. * Empathy, active listening, and patient-centered approach. * Organization, responsibility, and ability to operate effectively in complex environments. * Autonomy in decision-making within professional social practice. * Analytical capacity for data systematization and report writing. **Benefits:** Medical assistance, Dental assistance, Life insurance, Meal voucher, Transportation voucher
