Job Summary: This role involves pre-preparation, cleaning, food handling, assistance in cooking, and inventory organization in a kitchen. Key Highlights: 1. Essential support in kitchen operations and food preparation. 2. Focus on organization, hygiene, and food safety. 3. Direct assistance to the cook in various culinary tasks. Pre\-preparation (mise en place): Help organize all ingredients before the start of the shift. This includes washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping food items. Cleaning and sanitation: Keep the work area, utensils, and equipment clean at all times to ensure food safety. At the end of the shift, general cleaning of the space is commonly performed by the assistant. Food handling: Properly separate, portion, and store products, checking expiration dates to avoid waste. Cooking assistance: Assist the cook or chef with simpler tasks such as grilling, baking, or frying food, following recipes. Inventory organization: Keep the pantry and refrigerator orderly.
