Operation of kitchen equipment and appliances Assist in preparing various meals following predetermined recipes to meet patients’ dietary needs, adhering to the chef’s instructions; Prevent contamination or deterioration of food items supplied by the pantry, verifying their quality and quantity, and handling them appropriately to ensure conditions necessary for preparing healthy and nutritious meals; Assist in food preparation and cooking, seasoning foods and checking ingredient weights and measurements to achieve the appropriate flavor for each dish; Operate various types of ovens, stoves, and other kitchen appliances and equipment, handling them properly to cook and bake foods; Restock the meal distribution area. Assist in selecting vegetables, meats, fish, and cereals for food preparation; Portion cafeteria meals when required.
