Job Summary: Professional responsible for joining and cutting metallic alloy parts, preparing equipment, and interpreting technical drawings for welding in maintenance. Key Highlights: 1. Perform welding and cutting processes on metallic alloys 2. Prepare equipment and parts for welding and maintenance 3. Interpret drawings and sketches for welding specifications **JOB DETAILS** ----------------- Join and cut metallic alloy parts using welding and cutting processes such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), tungsten inert gas (TIG), metal inert gas (MIG), metal active gas (MAG), oxy-fuel gas, or others. Prepare equipment, accessories, welding and cutting consumables, and parts to be welded. Prepare metallic parts for welding during corrective or preventive maintenance of machines, surfaces, pipelines, etc. Verify specifications and drawings to select the appropriate weld type or process to be used. Visually inspect part conditions, interpret simple drawings and sketches, measurements, layout markings, etc. Identify welding positions and remove burrs or surface imperfections. Adjust welding and cutting parameters according to work instructions and select appropriate weld types or electrodes based on the welding process. Layout, drill, and cut parts manually or mechanically to fabricate components as required. Assist mechanics in disassembling and assembling machines and components. ### **REQUIREMENTS** Completed high school education.
