Job Summary: Perform nursing procedures and patient care for individuals undergoing clinical and/or surgical treatment, aiming for quality and safety. Key Highlights: 1. Ensure patient safety and quality of care Perform nursing procedures and patient care for patients of the Institution undergoing clinical and/or surgical treatment, involving technical-level activities aimed at ensuring quality of care provided and patient safety. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Perform nursing procedures and care for critically ill patients of the Institution undergoing clinical or surgical treatment; * Implement preventive measures for identified risks based on institutional protocols; * Record relevant information regarding patients under one’s responsibility, ensuring safety and continuity of treatment; * Participate in the surgical process, including verifying the surgical schedule, inspecting the operating room, checking surgical kits, receiving and transferring patients to the operating table, implementing pre\-operative precautions, setting up the operating table, assisting during surgery itself, transferring patients to the post-anesthetic recovery room, and preparing the operating room for the next surgery; * Organize the anesthesia process in operating rooms, including arranging materials, anesthetic medications, and necessary equipment; transferring patients from stretchers to the operating table; assisting during anesthesia administration; and participating in anesthesia procedures for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, which requires specific care, time, equipment, devices, and medications; * Provide individualized care to critically ill patients admitted to ICUs or clinical wards; * Collect and/or forward examinations requested by physicians; * Verify medical and nursing prescriptions, signing and stamping them; * Assist in performing medical procedures such as: chest drainage, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, colonoscopy, intracath insertion, etc., gathering specific materials for these procedures to stabilize hemodynamic parameters; * Instruct visitors during visiting hours regarding hand hygiene and its importance in preventing infections among patients under one’s care; * Monitor material and medication expenditures as well as their expiration dates, aiming to prevent waste; * Assist nurses and/or physicians in performing invasive procedures and supply required materials; * Work in critical areas, providing care to patients with higher severity levels and those using invasive devices; * Check and replenish supplies on ICU bed panels, such as gauze, catheters, suction equipment, sterile gloves, Ambu bags, etc.; * Verify trays prepared for emergency procedures, date them, and restock missing items; * Inspect the emergency cart and test the defibrillator daily; * Perform other duties as needed or at the discretion of the unit nurse; * Admit patients to the unit together with the nurse, receiving admission forms and medical records, escorting patients to their beds, identifying them, and identifying their medication bins; * Participate in shift handovers bed-to-bed, communicating important information to colleagues alongside the entire nursing team; * Participate in planning nursing care; * Actively participate in the risk management program, avoiding errors and harm to patients under one’s care; and, upon identifying such issues, immediately notify the responsible nurse, implement interventions to minimize risk, and record actions in the prescription; * Perform all nursing actions except those exclusively reserved for registered nurses, according to the General Nursing Procedures Manual; * Participate in planning patient discharges, jointly with the nurse, providing guidance to patients and their companions regarding necessary care and devices. * Verify ideal conditions for patient referrals in the pre\-operative phase of surgeries; promptly respond to verbal requests or call bell notifications from hospitalized patients; * Safely administer medications, preventing harm to patients; knowing High-Alert Medications; * Maintain cleanliness of the unit and report non-conformities in this process to the hygiene service; * Maintain and preserve unit equipment and materials, reporting equipment needs to the equipment center and requesting removal in case of obsolescence; * Keep patient medical records and documents organized; * Notify the nurse regarding repairs, maintenance, or missing equipment in the unit; * Participate in defining the daily individual material requisition for patients. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Completed technical nursing course; * Active COREN registration; * Intermediate-level computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency. **Additional Information** AVAILABLE TO WORK ON A 6X1 SCHEDULE \- 8 AM TO 2 PM OR 2 PM TO 8 PM **SPDM** \- Paulista Association for the Development of Medicine is a non-profit, philanthropic civil association, recognized as being of federal, state, and municipal public utility, respectively by Decrees No. 57\.925 dated 03/04/1966, No. 40\.103 dated 05/17/1962, and No. 8\.911 dated 07/30/1970\.
