We are looking for an organized, analytical, and committed individual to work as a **Junior Tax Assistant**, supporting the company’s tax routines and ensuring accurate tax calculation, fulfillment of ancillary obligations, and compliance with current legislation.
**Main Responsibilities:**
* Calculate indirect and direct taxes—including ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, PIS, COFINS, and ISS—according to the applicable tax regime;
* Review and configure incoming and outgoing tax documents, ensuring correct accounting registration;
* Perform accounting reconciliation of tax accounts, analyze discrepancies, and propose corrections when necessary;
* Prepare, validate, and audit ancillary obligations—including SPED Fiscal (ICMS/IPI), SPED Contributions, EFD-Reinf, DCTFWeb, and other applicable tax declarations;
* Conduct tax analyses and verify calculation bases, tax rates, tax benefits, and tax credits;
* Monitor changes in tax legislation and support implementation of internal process adjustments;
* Provide tax support and guidance to business units;
* Support maintenance and enhancement of internal tax controls, contributing to risk mitigation and tax compliance;
* Participate in continuous improvement projects, process automation initiatives, and implementation of new tax obligations arising from the Consumption Tax Reform;
* Prepare reports, controls, and analyses in Excel for monitoring KPIs and validating tax information;
* Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and Technology departments to ensure integrity of tax data in corporate systems.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
* Currently pursuing or having completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Sciences;
* Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, and data handling);
* ERP system knowledge;
* Knowledge of tax legislation and ancillary obligations;
* Experience in recording, analyzing, and reviewing tax documents;
* Knowledge of indirect and direct tax calculation;
* Knowledge of tax account reconciliation.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Prior experience in tax functions;
* Experience calculating taxes in medium- or large-sized companies;
* Experience preparing and auditing SPED Fiscal, SPED Contributions, EFD-Reinf, and DCTFWeb;
* Experience in Excel automation and control development;
* Power BI knowledge for report and dashboard creation;
* Familiarity with VTIN, 4TAX, and CODEX systems;
* Knowledge of state-level tax legislation in the Southeast and Northeast regions;
* Understanding of concepts, impacts, and regulations related to the Consumption Tax Reform (IBS, CBS, and Selective Tax), including ongoing tracking of legislative updates;
