Job Summary: A professional responsible for cutting and welding metal parts, operating equipment and tools, while ensuring workplace safety and organization. Key Highlights: 1. Performs cutting and welding on carbon steel and stainless steel using various processes. 2. Ensures cleanliness, organization, and safety of the workplace. 3. Uses PPE and complies with safety regulations in all activities. Cuts metal parts and welds carbon steel and stainless steel, performs drilling, works with sheets and equipment, utilizing welding and cutting processes such as: shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), tungsten inert gas (TIG), metal inert gas (MIG), metal active gas (MAG), oxy-fuel, submerged arc, brazing, and plasma. Promotes continuous cleanliness and contributes to maintaining workplaces clean and organized at all times. Prohibits storage or accumulation of materials, products, and equipment in employee walkways. Prohibits electrical wiring and hoses lying on the floor within employee walkways; Workers must immediately report to the service supervisor any situations they deem hazardous to their own safety and health or that of others. Workers must suspend tasks and exercise the right to refuse work whenever they identify serious and imminent risks to their safety and health or that of others; Always observe and comply with instructions on all safety signs and notices present in work areas; Ensure unobstructed access to portable fire extinguishers and other fire prevention and suppression equipment provided by the company; Use the following PPE according to performed activities: * Throughout the entire work shift: safety goggles, steel-toed safety boots, safety gloves for protection against abrasive and cutting agents (leather gauntlet), hearing protectors with minimum attenuation of 17 dB(A); * When handling steel parts and components: lumbar support belt for spinal protection (without CA number indication); * When operating portable powered tools and equipment: face shield, safety goggles, leather apron for torso protection against abrasive and cutting agents (leather split), steel-toed safety boots, safety gloves for protection against abrasive and cutting agents (leather gauntlet), hearing protectors with minimum attenuation of 17 dB(A); * Welding operations: welding helmet appropriate for the welding process used, leather split welding jacket, safety gloves for protection against abrasive and cutting agents (leather split), welding hood for head and neck protection against spatter, PFF3 respiratory protective mask, steel-toed safety boots; Only perform tasks after verifying associated hazards and after wearing all required and mandatory Personal Protective Equipment; Immediately report to the company any damage or alteration rendering PPE unsuitable for use, so immediate replacement can be arranged; **Use of Engineering Controls (EPCs):** When performing welding operations, isolate the area with appropriate welding screens to prevent infrared and ultraviolet radiation from affecting workers performing other nearby tasks; Use wheeled carts to assist in moving and transporting parts and components—when necessary; Prohibit exposed electrical wiring in the workplace. Do not use electrical “T” connectors; Do not wear accessories such as rings, earrings, bracelets, or necklaces during working hours; Carrying hand tools in pockets or inappropriate locations is prohibited. Hand tools with blades or points must be fitted with leather sheaths or other equivalent durable and resistant materials when not in use; Only use machines, equipment, and electrically powered tools complying with specific safety requirements outlined in NR-12. Hazard zones of machines and equipment must incorporate safety systems, including fixed guards, movable guards, and interlocked safety devices, safeguarding workers’ health and physical integrity; Do not use improvised tools (e.g., knives, scissors). Periodically inspect tools and repair or replace damaged or substandard ones; Weld carbon steel and stainless steel parts and components using MIG/MAG and TIG processes. Operate equipment, manual tools, and portable powered tools. Organize the workstation, storing used tools and equipment after task completion.
