If you are interested, we invite you to apply and participate in our selection process! **Responsibilities and Duties** **What will be your main responsibilities?** * Coordinate multidisciplinary teams in mining projects; * Develop and review technical projects and documents; * Participate in technical meetings with internal/external clients and prepare technical reports and calculation memoranda; * Support field operations by conducting technical site visits and adapting designs as needed; * Conduct geotechnical studies for capital projects; * Critically analyze geotechnical data and formulate technical recommendations; * Support operational geotechnical requirements; * Manage field geotechnical operations, including monitoring and laboratory testing. **Requirements and Qualifications** **Experience:** * Knowledge of geotechnics applied to iron ore mining; * Specialization in Geotechnics, Soil and Rock Mechanics, Hydraulics, and Hydrogeology; * Experience in stability analyses of open-pit mines, slopes, and hillsides, including geotechnical risk assessment; * Knowledge of design and supervision of waste rock piles, tailings piles, dams, and dikes; * Experience in applied hydrogeology, including groundwater tables, pore water pressures, drainage, and dewatering; * Proficiency in geotechnical and hydraulic modeling using software such as Slide2, RS2, R2S, SEEP/W, HEC\-RAS, HEC\-HMS, or similar tools; * Interpretation of soil and rock geotechnical tests (field and laboratory); * Preparation of technical reports, expert opinions, and calculation memoranda; * Technical leadership, strong communication skills, and an analytical profile focused on problem-solving. **The following will be considered advantageous:** * Master’s degree in Geotechnics or specialization in Geotechnics; * Knowledge of hydraulic design software; * Familiarity with ARCGis/ArcMAP or similar GIS tools; * Project planning and management experience; * Experience working within a geotechnical engineering technical team. **Qualifications and Legal Requirements** * Completed undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology, and/or Environmental Engineering; * Postgraduate qualification in Geotechnics, Project Management, Dam Safety, Geotechnical Structures, or related fields; * Active registration with CREA (Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy). **Additional Information** **What benefits will I receive?** * Health insurance plan; * Dental insurance plan; * Life insurance; * Meal allowance card; * Private pension plan; * Vacation bonus; * Wellhub/Gympass; * Access to Usiminas Corporate University and goFLUENT language platform; * Profit and Results Sharing Program. **Diversity and Inclusion** **Usiminas** is becoming increasingly diverse and inclusive, believing that everyone has the potential to truly be themselves!
