This position offers an opportunity for a recent master’s or doctoral graduate with interest in transportation, environment, and energy transition topics in Brazil. This role will support ICCT’s work in Brazil on topics such as urban bus electrification, adoption of electric vehicle fleets, charging infrastructure, vehicle emissions regulation programs, and other strategies to improve the environmental and energy performance of road transport in Brazil. We seek candidates with interest in climate change, the transportation sector, and air quality. The candidate will conduct research to influence public policies in the transportation sector and mitigate climate change. Analytical and computational skills are desirable to contribute to studies emphasizing technical rigor and depth in data analysis. **Position Level:** Associate Researcher **Responsibilities:** Conduct quantitative research to support the development of local, regional, and national regulations aimed at limiting environmental impacts of the road transport sector. Review and summarize technical and scientific literature, as well as review work by colleagues and external consultants. Analyze and interpret data on environmental performance and the evolution of the national vehicle market. Draft reports, articles, and other technical documents to communicate research findings and their implications for public policy. Support preparation of presentations to communicate research findings at public forums and to decision-makers. Contribute to engagement with external stakeholders, including government authorities, policymakers, NGOs, academics, or industry partners. **Requirements:** Master’s degree in public policy, engineering, or related disciplines. Excellent analytical and quantitative research skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills and emotional intelligence. Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis; experience in modeling and computational programming (preferably R and/or Python) is desirable. Ability to work independently with limited supervision; highly organized, self-directed, and strategic in problem-solving. Occasional travel may be required. Fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory. **Preferred Qualifications:** Experience with public policies and vehicle emissions regulation. Experience in research related to the electric power sector and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. **Benefits and Work Arrangement:** This position will be based at the ICCT Brazil office located in the Paraíso neighborhood of São Paulo. Employment will be under the CLT regime; the monthly salary for the Associate Researcher position is R$11.300,00. In addition, the candidate will receive meal allowance, transportation allowance, health insurance, dental insurance, and other internal benefits. The work model is hybrid, with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote.
