Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary: The professional will perform daily mechanical maintenance of machines, equipment, and facilities, interpret drawings, and ensure order at the workplace. Key Highlights: 1. Daily mechanical maintenance of machines, equipment, and facilities. 2. Interpretation of mechanical drawings and schematics to locate faults. 3. Participation in the assembly and installation of new machines and equipment. Responsibilities: * Performs daily mechanical maintenance of company machines, equipment, and facilities according to a schedule defined by the supervisor or as requested, using materials and portable tools (wrenches, pliers, measuring instruments, or oxy-acetylene or electric welding equipment): disassembles equipment, inspects or repairs defects, replaces parts, lubricates, reassembles, tests the work performed, and releases equipment for use; interprets mechanical drawings and schematics to locate faults and obtain guidance; * Ensures order and cleanliness at the workplace, as well as for materials, tools, machines, and equipment used in their activities; requests removal, replacement, or repair of parts and equipment by specialized technical support when necessary; observes safety procedures during work and uses PPE appropriately; requests service quotations or purchases materials to replenish inventory or for new tasks, issuing necessary requisitions for supervisor approval; * Weekly checks hydraulic unit oil levels or equivalent, and refills to the specified level per manufacturer guidelines if required; * Occasionally participates in mechanical assembly or installation of new machines and equipment, working jointly with the supplier’s or manufacturer’s team or under supervisor guidance: contributes to planning, reads or interprets drawings and sketches, advises on civil works if needed, assembles and disassembles structures, adapts parts, cleans, monitors tests, and receives training to assume future maintenance responsibilities; may also supervise third-party professionals performing maintenance services for training purposes or to provide support and guidance.
