Job Summary: The Control and Automation Engineer develops technical solutions for electrical panels, creates software for PLCs and HMIs, and performs FAT/SAT. Key Highlights: 1. Participation in FAT and SAT, commissioning and startup **POSITION DESCRIPTION:** ------------------------- **The Control and Automation Engineer is responsible for developing the technical solution for the electrical panel installed on the machine and/or process, as well as creating software installed on PLCs and HMIs when required. He/she is also capable of performing FAT and SAT, and may participate in activities such as commissioning and startup at the customer’s site.** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **RESPONSIBILITIES:** ---------------------- **Specify electrical devices as part of the control panel;** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ **Specify process instrumentation according to machine specifications/operation;** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Prepare electrical drawings in AutoCAD Electrical, as well as panel layout;** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Support the electrical assembly team during electrical panel construction activities;** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Develop the product’s bill of materials and correctly enter it into the management system (JDE);** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Support planning and supply chain teams in acquiring required materials;** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Develop PLC software in ladder logic or block language, and be capable of debugging, simulating, and testing the software during machine/process operation;** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Develop HMI screens, history, alarms, and other functionalities related to machine/process operation;** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Participate in internal FAT for control panels and machines;** ------------------------------------------------------------------ **Participate in SAT with the customer for machines and processes.** ------------------------------------------------------------------ **MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:** ---------------------------- * Education: Electrical Engineering / Electronics / Control & Automation / Mechatronics; * Experience with ERP systems and computer tools; * Experience with techniques/standards for electrical schematic development and electrical panel design; * Experience in developing electrical projects for machine or production process panels using AutoCAD Electrical; * Knowledge of techniques and best practices for electrical panel assembly; * Knowledge of key automation system components (controllers, human-machine interfaces, frequency inverters, industrial networks, process instrumentation, etc.); * Experience conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT); * Experience conducting commissioning and startup of production equipment and processes; * Intermediate English/Spanish (reading, writing, speaking). **PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:** * Knowledge of ladder logic and advanced block programming languages for programmable logic controllers (PLCs); * Knowledge of HMI configuration platforms and SCADA supervision and control software; * Knowledge of relational database operation (SQL, etc.), with ability to create, maintain, and correctly apply their functions and features. * Ability to technically lead cross-functional teams involved in equipment and/or production process projects. **APPLICATION PROCEDURES, IF YOU ARE A JBT MAREL EMPLOYEE:** Have been employed with the company for more than 1 year; Inform your leader about your application.
