Description

**What the area is like:** * The Manufacturing Engineering area for landing gear and components comprising their entire complex system is a specialized field within engineering. Landing gear are critical systems for the safe landing and takeoff of aircraft and require specialized knowledge for their manufacture. Our area integrates requirements from Structural, Materials, Systems, and Quality Engineering, translating them into work instructions and procedures for Production. We must also provide all necessary resources for manufacturing—aiming for lowest cost, shortest lead time, and highest quality standards. **Responsibilities and duties** **What your day-to-day will look like:** As a Landing Gear and Components Manufacturing Engineer, you will support product development and the manufacturing line, addressing technical issues and implementing solutions jointly with Production, Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, and Suppliers. You will be responsible for defining and validating assembly line processes and for interfacing with domestic and international suppliers. You will also join cross-functional teams to resolve problems, improve processes, and manage internal performance indicators—leading initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and performance. You will plan, develop, and introduce modifications to current production processes through studies of layout, labor, equipment, facilities, infrastructure, and process flow. You will collaborate closely with the Product Development team to identify viable solutions for series manufacturing. You will conduct studies and research aimed at optimizing labor utilization and other production resources. Your key responsibilities include: * Managing and implementing product and process changes in a way that mitigates impacts on manufacturing, deliveries, and quality—and ensures correct, high-quality execution across the entire process flow. * Proposing, managing, and implementing technical solutions applied to manufacturing processes to reduce recurring and non-recurring industrial costs—with a focus on improving quality and resource efficiency. * Developing and maintaining technical operating procedures aligned with product engineering requirements—ensuring information is clearly cascaded and understood by stakeholders. * Supporting product development management alongside DIP (Product Development Department) from the Manufacturing Engineering perspective—providing resources and documentation to enable product manufacturing and assembly. * Supporting assembly and manufacturing lines through documented guidance and active participation in implementing solutions to resolve technical issues—applying Quality and Production Engineering methodologies and tools in coordination with other areas (Logistics/Production/Quality/Engineering/Sites/Clients/Suppliers). **Requirements and qualifications** **To meet this challenge, you must have:** * Completed Bachelor’s degree (certificate of graduation or diploma required) in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields. * Active CREA registration or documentation required to obtain it. * Intermediate/advanced English proficiency for reading, writing, and speaking. * Experience in the automotive industry or related sectors. * Experience implementing tooling, fixtures, and equipment—including definition, procurement, construction, and installation phases—on automotive production lines, including layout, process, and manufacturing method development. * Experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component assembly and testing—including all associated requirements and activities (e.g., torque application, sealing and braking; rivet clinching; seal ring installation; welding; pin crimping; metallization, etc.). * Knowledge of measurement instruments and processes. * Ability to manage and implement product and process changes. * Experience developing operation routings. * Experience creating and revising process specifications, technical reports, and test plans. * Analytical capability to make data-driven decisions, critically assess risks, and anticipate failures. * Familiarity with quality tools (FMEA, Pareto, Histograms, 8D, Ishikawa, 5W1H, etc.). * Familiarity with Lean concepts and tools (VSM, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, TPM, etc.). **You’ll stand out if you have:** * Knowledge of P&D (Planning & Development) focused on production lines and tooling. * Experience managing medium- or high-complexity projects (scope, procurement, timelines, costs, risks, communication). * Knowledge of machining, geometric and dimensional tolerances. * Familiarity with aerospace products (landing gear system assembly, actuators, shock absorbers, valves, pylons) is desirable. * Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) and Integrated Product Development (IPD). * Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques. * In-depth knowledge of automation, collaborative robotics, real-time monitoring, and smart manufacturing. * Experience with process digitalization and control, applied statistics, SPC, Minitab, multivariate analysis, and process audits. Knowledge of Python programming for automation, script development, and API-based integration. * **Additional information** On-site work model in São José dos Campos / SP. **Benefits:** * Life Insurance * Health Plan * Dental Plan * Vaccine Benefit * Pharmacy Benefit * Wellhub (Gympass) * On-site cafeteria * PLR (Profit and Results Sharing) * Private Pension Plan * Cooperative * EMpower (internal training and development platform) Need support with the Gupy platform?
