Job Description Mission: Project Support: Assists in implementing improvement projects and in studies for applying new technologies in sanitation and environmental areas. Team Leadership: Ensures daily maintenance and operational routines at WWTPs and SPS are carried out by field teams, acting as the liaison between operations and Supervision. Responsibilities:* Quality and Compliance: In coordination with the Quality department, implements the laboratory activity plan, identifies operational “non-conformities”, and immediately applies corrective and preventive actions to ensure discharge standards. * Method Validation: Supports Supervision and Coordination in updating testing techniques and validating new methods, issuing technical opinions on obtained results and monitoring internal and external audits. * Process Optimization: Participates in research aimed at refining treatment formulas and methods, seeking chemical and operational efficiency of treatment units. * Process Control: Monitors and directs wastewater treatment control, interpreting laboratory analyses to identify deviations from standards and guiding teams on necessary corrections. * Operational Inspection: Monitors the operation of pumping stations and treatment plants, identifying intervention needs and determining root causes of issues to prevent environmental impacts and pollution of water bodies. * Basin Monitoring: Monitors the physical-chemical and biological quality of local watersheds, identifying impacted areas and implementing corrective actions in involved sectors. * Safety and People Management: Communicates operational goals and occupational safety regulations (PPEs/collective protective equipment) to staff, supporting administrative routines such as training and attendance tracking. * Effluent Monitoring: Assesses the pollutant potential of direct or indirect discharges into the sewer network, assisting in characterizing such effluents to ensure the integrity of the treatment system. * Administrative Support: Prepares routine operational reports and supports Coordination in human resources processes and procurement of technical materials. Candidate Requirements Requirements:* Education: Technical degree in Sanitation, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Electromechanics, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Sanitary, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical). * Driver’s License – Category B * Experience: 2–5 years in sanitation operations, preferably at WWTPs, sewer networks, or utilities * Desirable: NR-33, NR-35, NR-10 certifications; WWTP operation course; field team experience.
