Prepare reagents and equipment for laboratory analyses. 2. Perform inventory control and equipment cleaning. 3. Collect biological samples and assist during cardiac surgeries. Laboratory Assistant Position Description: We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support daily laboratory tasks, ensuring organization and proper operation of the facility. Responsibilities: * Prepare reagents and equipment for laboratory analyses. * Receive, prepare, and load samples into specific equipment according to the required tests. * Daily monitoring of refrigerator and freezer temperatures, notifying the biomedical professional of any non-conformities. * Manage laboratory inventory, informing the biomedical professional when new requisitions / acquisitions are needed. * Periodically perform equipment cleaning control, documenting results on forms. * Collect biological samples when necessary. * Assist during cardiac surgeries to perform blood gas analysis urgently for the medical team. * Perform all activities using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to safeguard personal health and that of others nearby. Wash materials and glassware. Requirements: * Completed or ongoing high school education / Biomedical Sciences degree program * Prior laboratory experience is an advantage * Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques * Attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to work effectively in a team
