Key Highlights:

2. Play a central role in delivering reliable and traceable information
3. Ongoing project with rich context
**About the Opportunity**
MCSA is a law firm specializing in credit recovery and collections, currently undergoing significant evolution in its data operations. We are building the company’s data layer—from ETL through BI and reporting—and need a Data Engineer to lead this initiative.
You will join an ongoing project with rich context and assume a central role in delivering reliable and traceable information to operations and executive leadership.
**Technical Context**
* Our primary data source is a collections system, with full read access to its database.
* Executive leadership’s top priority is reliability and traceability of data feeding reports and strategic decisions.
* Our environment uses SQL Server for legacy systems and PostgreSQL for internally built layers.
**Responsibilities**
* **ETL from the primary source:** extract, transform, and standardize data from the collections system, building reliable, auditable, and documented pipelines that feed BI and operational reports.
* **Dimensional modeling:** structure clean, well-modeled data layers (e.g., Star Schema or similar), preparing the foundation for the data warehouse.
* **Data quality and governance:** validations, consistency testing, duplicate handling, data dictionary, and lineage—ensuring executive leadership trusts the numbers they see.
* **BI support:** deliver documented, high-performance datasets for consumption in visualization tools.
* **Continuous evolution:** adapt pipelines as operations scale and new data sources or requirements emerge.
* **Security and LGPD compliance:** handle financial and registration data in strict adherence to privacy regulations.
**Requirements**
* Proven experience with ETL/ELT in production environments.
* Advanced SQL—complex queries, CTEs, window functions, optimization.
* Python—Pandas, development of ingestion and transformation routines.
* Dimensional modeling—Star Schema, raw/staging/consumption layers.
* Ability to understand and map undocumented legacy databases.
* Daily use of Git.
* Strong knowledge of security best practices and LGPD.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience in Credit Recovery, Collections, or law firms.
* Familiarity with SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
* Orchestration using Airflow, Prefect, or dbt.
* Data governance, catalogs, and data lineage.
**Profile**
* Able to join an ongoing project, quickly grasp context, and propose actionable paths forward.
* Understands that reliable data is more valuable than sophisticated architecture.
* Works autonomously but collaborates effectively with business stakeholders who hold domain context.
* Recognizes the significance of handling financial and sensitive information.
