This position is responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring process reliability, and providing technical support to operations—guaranteeing safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. **RESPONSIBILITIES** * Lead the Process Engineering department, ensuring technical support to operations and continuous development of production processes. * Manage process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, operational efficiency, and reducing costs. * Supervise activities related to the development, optimization, and scale\-up of biotechnological processes, including fermentation and associated unit operations. * Ensure process problem analysis and resolution by conducting technical investigations and implementing robust solutions. * Define process control and monitoring strategies to ensure operational stability and product quality. * Coordinate engineering studies, including mass and energy balances, production capacity assessments, and technical feasibility analyses. * Lead improvement and industrial investment projects, including defining technical requirements for new equipment and systems. * Ensure the updating and maintenance of technical documentation, including procedures, PFDs, P\&IDs, and operating manuals. * Conduct and support process hazard analyses, including HAZOP and other process safety methodologies. * Promote a process safety and continuous improvement culture across the organization. * Manage and develop the process engineering team, fostering technical competence and professional development. * Collaborate with Production, Quality, R\&D, and Engineering departments to ensure technical and operational alignment. * Define and monitor performance indicators (KPIs) for the Process Engineering department. **REQUIREMENTS** * Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or related fields. * Master’s degree or MBA in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related disciplines will be considered an advantage. * Solid experience in process engineering within biotechnology, chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industries. * Experience in biotechnological processes, including fermentation and associated unit operations. * Experience managing technical teams and leading industrial projects. * Hands\-on experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. * Knowledge of process engineering principles, mass and energy balances, and process data analysis. * Experience interpreting and developing PFDs and P\&IDs. * Knowledge of process safety and risk analysis methodologies (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA, or similar). * Experience with continuous improvement tools and process performance analysis. **About Corbion** Corbion is a sustainable ingredients company dedicated to preserving what matters—including food and its production, health, and the planet.
