Description: The Toolmaker is the central professional responsible for managing, maintaining, controlling inventory of, and distributing tooling and setup equipment. He ensures that tools are in perfect condition, properly organized, and safe for use, and actively participates in machine setup according to Production Order (OP) specifications, thereby ensuring continuity and quality of the production process. Responsibilities and Duties * Maintain control over tools used by the setup team, ensuring their good condition, full functionality, organization, and proper storage. * Verify equipment status to ensure safe usage—for example, hoists and damaged tools that could lead to unsafe acts. * Comply with NR-10 requirements. Request an electrician whenever electrical components need to be powered on/off. * Direct management to request replacement or repair of tools and equipment unfit for use; open service orders (OS) and submit requests in the system. * Remain continuously informed and updated regarding technical bulletins and production and PCP (Production Control and Planning) demands. * Maintain spreadsheet-based control of tool inventories (e.g., conduct tooling/equipment surveys, identify damaged or missing items). * Monitor and actively participate in tracking parts and their status. * Daily distribution of tooling to production machines: receive Production Orders containing product specifications (dimensions, tolerances, thicknesses, etc.), locate appropriate tools, and make them available for equipment setup. * Ensure maintenance, storage, and preservation of texture rolls. * Collaborate with Operators during machine setup (after maintenance interventions) to initiate the production process: replace, assemble, and adjust tools per dimensions specified in Production Orders; supervise equipment startup for test operation; perform necessary adjustments; and authorize commencement of production. * Maintain tooling usage control via spreadsheets recording each tool’s specifications, operational status (active/inactive), maintenance status or disposability (due to breakage or obsolescence), and individual characteristics (properties, dimensions, tolerances, etc.) for identification, sorting, and assembly routing. * Maintain order and cleanliness of the workplace, equipment, and tools; request maintenance services when required; observe safety procedures during operations; and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * Responsible for monitoring and advising on tooling procurement or modification due to new products, original design changes, or simple wear-and-tear: receive requests, contact or prospect suppliers, obtain price and delivery time quotations, secure purchase approval, receive and inspect delivered items, verify specifications, record receipt in control spreadsheets, and store items in the warehouse. * Perform other job-related tasks as directed by supervisors.
