**Responsibilities and Duties** **Position Objective**
Strategically and technically prevent occupational, biological, chemical, and physical hazards, ensuring safe and legally compliant environments across scientific research, technological development, and industrial production activities—thereby safeguarding employee well-being, operational continuity, and adherence to regulatory standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Occupational Safety and Health Management**
* Implement, monitor, and enhance mandatory programs: **PGR, LTCAT, PCMSO (interface), Work Permit (PT), PSSAG, PAE, AEP/AET**;
* Identify, assess, and control occupational hazards, with emphasis on **biological, chemical, physical, and accident-related risks**.
* Serve as the technical reference for the unit.
* Manage third-party contractors (access, onboarding, training, documentation review, technical oversight).
* Implement and support the Internal Commission for Accident Prevention (CIPA).
**Budget Management**
* Plan, control, and monitor the **annual Occupational Safety budget**, covering PPEs, engineering controls (EPCs), training, technical contracts, inspections, technical reports, and specialized services.
* Perform **cost management**, deviation analysis, and propose optimization initiatives without compromising legal compliance or safety.
* Support **quotation, procurement, and supplier management** processes related to Occupational Health and Safety.
* Contribute to financial planning for projects, facility expansions, new production lines, and regulatory adaptations.
**Biosecurity and Controlled Environments**
* Support and supervise **biosecurity practices**, biological containment, and proper use of PPEs and EPCs.
* Comply with **Biosecurity, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)** guidelines and regulations.
**Training and Safety Culture**
* Develop and deliver technical and behavioral training (NRs, biosecurity, hazardous chemicals, work in classified areas).
* Promote a safety culture across the unit.
* Act as a multiplier of best practices and safe behaviors.
* Conduct Occupational Health and Safety onboarding for new employees and third-party contractors.
**Incident Management**
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses using root cause analysis and action plans.
* Develop and execute **emergency response plans**, including chemical spills, biological exposures, fire, and evacuation.
* Manage the Emergency Brigade and conduct periodic drills.
**Inspections, Audits, and Performance Indicators**
* Prepare for and accompany internal and external audits.
* Monitor safety KPIs, technical reports, and evidence of regulatory compliance.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives.
**Requirements and Qualifications** **Mandatory Requirements**
* Technical degree in **Occupational Safety**, with active registration;
* Over 5 years’ experience as an Occupational Safety Technician;
* Solid knowledge of applicable NRs (Brazilian Regulatory Standards).
**Desirable Differentiators**
* Familiarity with **RM Totvs, Corporate, QlikSense** systems;
* Experience conducting regulatory audits;
* Experience in **biosecurity**, handling biological and chemical agents;
* Ability to operate effectively in highly regulated, high-criticality environments.
