This professional works under the supervision of the chef, performing tasks such as cutting, peeling, washing, and sanitizing food items and utensils. Responsibilities also include inventory management and workspace organization. Key Responsibilities * **Food Preparation:** Cutting, peeling, washing, and preparing vegetables, meats, and other ingredients according to instructions. * **Assistance in Cooking:** Assisting in cooking, baking, frying, or grilling food under the chef's guidance. * **Organization and Cleaning:** Maintaining a clean kitchen, including cleaning surfaces and equipment, and washing dishes and utensils. * **Inventory Management:** Monitoring and controlling food inventory, requesting replenishment when necessary. * **Plating Assistance:** Assisting in dish assembly and presentation prior to service. * **Food Safety:** Adhering to food safety standards—including hygiene and temperature control—to ensure dish quality. * **General Maintenance:** Performing periodic deep cleaning of the kitchen, such as refrigerators and ovens sanitization.
