**About the position:**The Quality Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the execution of quality and food safety processes within the industrial operation, guaranteeing compliance with Barry Callebaut’s standards and requirements. This role operates directly in the production environment, focusing on the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of quality and food safety management systems, reporting directly to the Plant Quality Manager.
**Key responsibilities:**
* Ensure implementation and maintenance of quality and food safety management systems across industrial operations.
* Actively engage on the shop floor, performing routine inspections and ensuring adherence to quality standards, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct inspections and monitoring related to processes, finished products, CCPs, prerequisite programs, and sanitation.
* Lead and develop teams through continuous training, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
* Analyze quality data, prepare reports, and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
* Lead and support investigations of deviations, complaints, and incidents, ensuring root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
* Support internal and external audits, ensuring unit readiness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical support to operations for real\-time problem resolution, preventing impacts on production and customers.
* Act as a strategic partner in new product implementation and process transfers.
* Ensure adherence to and reinforcement of quality, food safety, and operational excellence culture.
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or related fields.
* Experience in quality or food safety within an industrial environment.
* Prior experience in team leadership or as a technical reference.
* Knowledge of food safety management systems (HACCP, GMP, GFSI); FSSC 22000 or BRC certification is desirable.
* Hands\-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with close proximity to operations.
* Experience conducting internal and external audits.
* Strong communication skills, analytical mindset, and organizational ability.
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
* Advanced English (strong verbal and written communication skills).
